Moving Meditations for Lent | Day 33: “It is finished”

“It is finished.” John 19:30 . Jesus speaks about eternal life many times. He even states that He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. And yet in this statement there is a definitive conclusion. But what ends here? His life? Our lives? No- suffering. This is the end of hopelessness, the end of suffering without redemption. Jesus is very intentional with His words, and here He is no different. Do we believe Him?. . .

Take your hands high above your head creating an arc with your arms coming from your sides. Bring your hands together into a prayer gesture and slowly bring it to your heart. Remain in stillness. Within stillness, there is still movement, there is still life. That even when Jesus says it is the end, it really isn’t. That even in death there is life. In the stillness, let go of what does end- your burdens, your pain, your suffering. It will end, if you choose to believe Him.

. . .
