“Searching through a crowd full of faces and all I see is Yours” Along the path to Calvary, a woman named Veronica approached Jesus, sifting through the crowds to simply wipe his face of blood, sweat, tears, and dirt. It is said that the cloth she used left an image of the face of Jesus. If anyone has ever been in a large crowd, you know how overwhelming it can get. Lots of people, lots of personalities, maybe pushing and shoving, but maybe also kindness. There are also lots of faces. And among those faces, do you see Jesus’ face? There isn’t any one face you should look out for, but all. Among the crowds you must see the face of God in every single one of them.

Take time today to look at the many faces of those passing you by and start to recognize God in them. Often when we say “I see God in you” we only see the image of our God. But if we start seeing people as they are and recognizing that that is God too. If you can’t make it out to a crowd, take a look in the mirror at your own face. Do you see the face of God there? In all your flaws, imperfections, self-hate- the blood, sweat, tears, & dirt – do you see the face of God?
